Fence Installation - Phase 1

Among the first tasks for the 2020 Project is preparing the site for the installation of underground infrastructure such as power and water. To enable the safe construction of this critical feature, the development team will be installing a protective fence around portions of the construction site starting August 31, 2016 through November 1, 2016. This includes the southern edge of Scholars Lane, which is the side closest to Little Lake.
The campus amphitheater will remain open.
The northernmost portion of the Bowl will remain open at least through Nov. 1, 2016, and after November 1st, an updated fence plan will be posted on this website.
Let's make it an "Art Fence"
A gallery of renderings of 2020 Project facilities and project details will be installed along the Scholars Lane portion of the fence shortly after the panels are installed. This is expected to occur during the weeks of September 5th and September 12th.
If you have any interest in getting involved with an effort to add art to the fence, please send an email to Richard Cummings at rcummings2@ucmerced.edu with the subject line "Art Fence".
For your safety, please be aware of barricades and detour signage. Please email construction2020@ucmerced.edu with any comments or concerns. The hours of activity will be between 7 am and 3 pm. Traffic flaggers will be on site to direct buses, circulation and vehicles.
