Based on a third-party analysis, development of the Merced 2020 Project has a total one-time effect related to its design and construction, including direct and ripple effects, estimated at approximately $1.5 billion in Merced County and $2.4 billion statewide.
By 2022, the ongoing operations of the Merced 2020 Project will have increased spending by more than $200 million per year in the state.
